Commencement is a joyful celebration of the dedication, accomplishments, and milestones of West Coast University graduates, shared with university leadership, family, and friends.
Each ceremony includes an inspiring keynote address, remarks from university leaders, recognition of academic degrees, and induction into the WCU Alumni Community. Graduates and guests will have the opportunity to capture memories through photographs and connect with faculty, deans, and members of the West Coast University community who have supported them along the way.
More details about the ceremony, schedule, and event logistics will be shared in the months leading up to commencement.
Students eligible to participate will receive invitations based on registrar-confirmed eligibility. For more information on eligibility, please contact the Registrar's Office.
For questions about the Pinning or White Coat ceremonies, please reach out to your Campus Director of Student Affairs.
Eligibility to participate in commencement is determined and confirmed by the West Coast University Registrar's Office. The registrar's team reviews academic records, graduation applications and degree requirements to ensure all graduates meet the criteria for participation.
Students will be notified of their eligibility via their WCU student email approximately two months prior to commencement.
Any questions regarding eligibility should be directed to the University Registrar. Contact information for each campus can be found here: University Registrar Contact Information.
Eligible graduates will receive an e-mail invitation to RSVP for their campus' Commencement ceremony approximately two (2) months ahead of the ceremony date.
Hooding will take place onstage by the program dean during the graduate recognition portion of the ceremony.
The number of guest tickets each graduating student is allotted will depend on the size of the Commencement venue and the anticipated number of graduates attending the ceremony. Your Commencement Registration Form will show you the maximum number of guest tickets you are allotted for your ceremony; please select the number of guest tickets you need when filling out the form. Each guest ticket equates to one audience seat. Details about ticket delivery or pickup will be included within communications leading up to commencement.
